The sensory profile is defined by an intense, punchy hop character featuring vibrant notes of resinous pine, zesty grapefruit, and a hint of tropical fruit. By utilizing a clean fermentation and a lean malt bill, the beer achieves a remarkably dry, snappy finish that allows the bitterness to shine without being heavy. It is a brilliant, refreshing experience that strips away the malt weight of its predecessor while retaining a high-octane aromatic intensity and a clean, lager-like fermentation profile.
Appearance. Brilliant clarity with a pale gold to light amber color (7 SRM). Topped with a persistent, fine-beaded white head that leaves significant lacing as it recedes.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma showcasing classic American traits: pungent pine, lemon zest, and dank resin, backed by a subtle tropical melon note. Malt is nearly neutral, offering only a faint, clean cracker-like graininess. Fermentation is exceptionally clean with no yeast esters.
Taste. Aggressive but clean bitterness dominates the palate. Hop flavors of citrus peel and resinous spice are front and center. The malt backbone is minimal and grainy, providing just enough structure to support the hops. Finishes bone-dry with a lingering, crisp bitterness and a clean aftertaste devoid of any sweet caramel notes.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with a very crisp, snappy texture. Carbonation is medium-high, enhancing the dry finish. A subtle, well-integrated alcoholic warmth is present, reflecting its strength without any harshness or astringency.
