Galactic Nuts is a decadent, dessert-forward Imperial Stout that evokes nostalgic confectionary flavors through a rich marriage of cocoa and toasted hazelnuts. The experience is defined by an intense aromatic profile of dark chocolate and praline, supported by a deep, roasty malt backbone. On the palate, the addition of lactose provides a luxurious, silky sweetness that perfectly rounds out the assertive roasted grain and subtle dark fruit esters. It balances the robust 9% ABV with a velvety, full-bodied texture, finishing with a lingering, nutty warmth that emphasizes its indulgent, pastry-influenced character while maintaining the complexity expected of the style.
Appearance. Jet black and completely opaque (40 SRM). Topped with a dense, persistent dark tan head that leaves thick, oily legs on the glass as it recedes.
Aroma. High intensity with dominant notes of toasted hazelnuts and rich cocoa powder. Beneath the adjuncts lies a complex base of bittersweet chocolate, espresso, and light dark fruit esters reminiscent of raisins, with a subtle, creamy sweetness from the lactose.
Taste. Initial impression is very rich and sweet, led by layers of milk chocolate and intense roasted nuttiness. The mid-palate features coffee-like roast and burnt grain bitterness which provides essential balance to the lactose sweetness. Hop bitterness is moderate but mostly masked by the thick malt profile. The finish is long and indulgent, leaving lingering flavors of cocoa and hazelnut spread.
Mouthfeel. Full-bodied and exceptionally viscous with a chewy, velvety texture. Carbonation is low to moderate. A smooth, well-integrated alcohol warmth is present without being sharp, further enhanced by the creamy mouthfeel provided by the lactose.
