This decadent Imperial Stout offers an opulent sensory experience, shaped by its time in oak and a lavish addition of adjuncts. Deep layers of roasted malt provide a foundation for intense aromatic waves of toasted coconut and nutty hazelnuts. On the palate, the interplay between bittersweet cacao nibs and creamy vanilla beans creates a liquid dessert profile, further enhanced by subtle oak tannins and spirit-like depth from partial barrel aging. Despite the massive 14.1% ABV, the alcohol manifests as a smooth, integrated warmth rather than a sharp burn. The finish is lingering and rich, balancing dark chocolate roast with a persistent, velvety sweetness.

Appearance. Jet black and opaque (40+ SRM). Small, dense, dark brown head with low retention. Significant viscosity visible as thick legs on the glass.

Aroma. High intensity. Rich toasted coconut, roasted hazelnuts, and bittersweet cacao nibs dominate. Vanilla beans provide a floral, creamy sweetness. Background notes of charred oak, dark chocolate, and dried figs (esters). No hop aroma.

Taste. Initial fudge-like sweetness with dominant cacao nibs and vanilla. Mid-palate reveals toasted coconut and savory hazelnut. Moderate bitterness from roasted grains provides necessary balance. Notes of bourbon-soaked oak and dark fruit esters emerge in the lingering, warming aftertaste.
