Lowercase Brewing Summer Pilsner
This sessionable German Pilsner, a collaboration between Lowercase and Here Today, offers a vibrant sensory profile designed for high drinkability. Drawing inspiration from the Leichtbier style, it features a lean, highly attenuated body that highlights a foundation of grainy Pilsner malt. The aroma is defined by moderate floral and spicy hop notes, which transition into an assertive bitterness on the palate. Despite its modest 3.6% ABV, the beer maintains the classic crispness of the style, finishing bone-dry with a clean, mineral snap and a lingering herbal hop character that provides a refreshing, sharp edge.
Appearance. 2–3 SRM. Brilliant, straw-colored liquid with excellent clarity. It supports a dense, creamy white head with strong retention and delicate lacing.
Aroma. Moderate intensity featuring spicy and herbal German hop character. Behind the hops lies a low, clean grainy-sweet malt profile with hints of toasted cracker and light honey. The fermentation is exceptionally clean, devoid of esters or phenols.
Taste. Initial light doughy malt flavors are rapidly overtaken by a firm, spicy hop bitterness. The balance is decidedly bitter and crisp. It features a clean lager character throughout, leading into a very dry finish where a lingering herbal hop flavor and a slight flinty minerality persist.
Mouthfeel. Light to medium-light body with high carbonation that creates a crisp, refreshing effervescence. No alcohol warmth is present, and the mouthfeel is smooth without any astringency or harshness.
