This Double IPA delivers an assertive, hop-centric experience built upon a crisp and lean foundation. By utilizing Pilsner and Golden Promise malts, the brewery avoids heavy caramel tones, instead offering a clean, crackery grain profile that allows the hops to dominate. The sensory profile is defined by an intense aromatic punch of citrus, grapefruit, and floral notes derived from the classic combination of Cascade and Citra hops. On the palate, a firm, lingering bitterness is balanced by a dry finish and a subtle touch of body from the Carapils. It is a modern, high-intensity ale that emphasizes hop purity and drinkability.
Appearance. Deep gold to pale amber with excellent clarity. It features a moderate-sized, persistent white head with fine-textured lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring prominent citrus zest, grapefruit, and floral notes from Cascade, alongside tropical fruit and lime characters from Citra. The malt profile is restrained, showing clean, neutral, and slightly grainy-sweet notes in the background.
Taste. Strong and complex hop flavors of orange peel, grapefruit, and tropical melon. The malt provides a soft, unobtrusive support with a light bready character. Bitterness is firm and moderately high but lacks harshness, leading into a very dry, clean finish with a lingering hoppy aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light to medium body with a smooth, slightly creamy texture. Carbonation is medium-high, providing a crisp sensation. A light, well-integrated alcohol warmth is noticeable but smooth.
