This Imperial Stout presents an imposing sensory profile, defined by its petroleum-like viscosity and extensive whisky barrel aging. The pour is an opaque, jet black with a dense, mocha-hued head. Aromas of intense dark chocolate and scorched espresso meld with the spirituous depth of the whisky, offering notes of charred oak and vanilla. On the palate, a complex landscape of bittersweet cocoa, black licorice, and dried figs emerges, supported by a firm hop bitterness and the smooth, spirit-forward warmth of the barrel. It concludes with a lingering, roasty finish that balances decadent malt sweetness against subtle oak tannins for a harmonious, powerful experience.

Appearance. Jet black and opaque (40+ SRM). Features a thick, creamy, deep tan head with moderate retention and visible legs reflecting high viscosity.

Aroma. High intensity with a rich blend of bittersweet chocolate, espresso, and black licorice. Distinctive whisky notes provide layers of charred oak and vanilla, complemented by moderate dark fruit esters resembling raisins and plums.

Taste. Intense and complex initial impression of burnt grain and dark cocoa. The mid-palate reveals layers of molasses and toasted oak, supported by a firm hop bitterness in the 60-70 IBU range. Finishes moderately dry with lingering roasted notes and spirituous warmth.

Mouthfeel. Full to very full-bodied with a thick, velvety, and chewy texture. Carbonation is low to moderate, accompanied by a significant but smooth alcohol warmth.
