Lo Gambusí Riu is an approachable Blonde Ale that captures a river-inspired freshness with its deep golden hue and malt-forward character. While hops are present to provide structure, the sensory profile is intentionally led by the sweet, grainy richness of the malts. The 6% ABV provides a slightly more substantial presence than a standard session ale, adding a subtle depth to the medium-bodied experience. Clean fermentation ensures a smooth, crisp finish where the sweetness of the malts lingers pleasantly against a backdrop of soft floral hop notes, resulting in a balanced, highly drinkable, and refreshing golden ale.
Appearance. Deep gold color (5-6 SRM) with brilliant clarity. Pours with a dense, white head that exhibits good retention and leaves light lacing.
Aroma. Moderate intensity featuring a prominent sweet malt character with notes of fresh bread and light honey. Hop aroma is low to moderate, offering subtle floral and herbal nuances. The fermentation profile is clean with negligible esters.
Taste. Initial soft maltiness leads with flavors of cracker and sweet grain. Malt sweetness dominates the palate as described by the brewer, balanced by a medium-low bitterness. Hop flavor is restrained and floral. The finish is clean and slightly malty, with a lingering impression of sweetness rather than a dry snap.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, slightly creamy texture. Moderate to high carbonation provides a refreshing mouth-feel. A very light hint of alcohol warmth is present, though it remains well-integrated for its strength.
