Lluna Mald’ipa
This organic English IPA presents a balanced sensory profile defined by its distinctive hop character and clean, gluten-free construction. Local hop varieties, including Columbus, Magnum, and Cascade, drive a prominent aroma of citrus and resin, supported by the spicy and earthy notes of Chinook and Nugget. A solid malt backbone provides a bready, biscuity foundation that tempers the assertive bitterness. Despite its moderate strength, it offers an intense palate that transitions into a characteristically dry finish. The experience is crisp and well-attenuated, showcasing the harmonious interplay between classic British malt influences and expressive, modern hop selections.
Appearance. Deep golden to light amber color. Brilliantly clear with a moderate-sized, persistent off-white head that leaves light lacing.
Aroma. Moderate-high intensity featuring floral and citrus-orange notes from the Cascade, alongside a resinous, spicy-peppery undertone from Columbus and Chinook. Medium-low bready and slightly toasty malt provides a supportive base with subtle earthy esters.
Taste. Initial assertive hop bitterness is immediately apparent, followed by hop flavors of grapefruit zest and pine. The malt character is medium-low, offering flavors of fresh bread and light biscuit. Fermentation is clean with low fruity esters. The balance is firmly hop-forward, leading to a very dry, crisp finish with a lingering, non-harsh bitterness.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth texture. Moderate to medium-high carbonation enhances the dry sensation. No significant alcohol warmth is present, and the finish is free of hop-derived astringency.
