Such is the depth of the burnished orange colour, it looks like you’re pouring liquid marmalade into a glass! It’s sweet on the nose, almost barley sugar, but there’s also incense, dark chocolate, candied orange and smoke. On the palate, there’s more sweetness, together with orange oil, orange peel, baking spice especially clove, all wrapped in pillowy soft and chewy tannins. A fine streak of gentle acid gives it freshness and fruit and a lingering sweetness at the finish.

This bottle is another experiment with Yarlington Mill. The fruit was grown and harvested from North Downs Orchard in Somerset. Originating in Somerset, this variety has become the epitome of West Country cider apples - a riotous explosion of pure phenolic joy!
Beginning with a spontaneous fermentation in steel it was later moved to a series of different barrels to age on fine lees. The selection for this cider was made exclusively from 2nd and 3rd use ex-cognac barrels as well as a 15% component from tank.
If you can imagine pouring liquid marmalade into a glass, this is what this apple can achieve. Sweet on the nose, barley sugar, incense, candied orange, dark chocolate and smoke. Orange oil, orange peel, baking spice, especially clove wrapped in pillowy soft tannins. Rich and deeply fruity.
