This American IPA showcases a vibrant, hop-forward profile led by an intensive combination of Citra, Amarillo, and Columbus. The aroma is dominated by layers of bright citrus and stone fruit, supported by a distinct resinous undertone. On the palate, a clean malt base featuring Spelt malt adds a unique, slightly nutty graininess and a smooth texture that balances the assertive bitterness. Bold grapefruit and tropical notes from the Citra and Amarillo shine through, while the Columbus provides a grounding piney depth. The finish is crisp and dry, allowing the complex interplay of modern hop products to linger without overwhelming the senses.
Appearance. Medium gold with a slight, persistent haze. Features a large, frothy white head with excellent retention and significant lacing on the glass.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma with prominent notes of grapefruit, orange zest, and ripe peach. A supporting dank, resinous pine character is present, alongside a low, clean, bready malt scent with a hint of grainy spelt.
Taste. Initial impression is a burst of citrus and tropical fruit. Hop flavors of lime, mango, and pine needle are medium-high, supported by a firm, clean bitterness. The malt character is low but provides a sufficient grainy backbone. The finish is medium-dry and crisp, with a lingering hoppy and bitter aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a noticeable smoothness and slight creaminess from the spelt malt. Carbonation is moderate-high. Features a very light, well-integrated alcohol warmth with no hop harshness.
