This lush Hazy IPA, a collaboration between Liquid Light and Turning Point, showcases an intense tropical profile driven by Citra hops and a massive infusion of mango. The sensory experience is dominated by sun-ripened stone fruit and bright citrus zest, delivered with a silky-smooth texture. By utilizing advanced hop products to eliminate harshness, the brewers have achieved a saturated fruit character without the distraction of hop burn. The result is a thick, juicy palate that surprisingly transitions into a crisp, refreshing finish. Bready malt notes provide a soft foundation for the vibrant fruit esters, making for a highly drinkable and aromatic experience.
Appearance. Straw to light orange (4-6 SRM) with a deep, opaque haze and a luminous shine. It features a dense, rocky, meringue-like white head with exceptional retention and thick, sticky lacing.
Aroma. High intensity with an immediate explosion of fresh mango and tropical fruit. Citra hops add layers of grapefruit, lime, and tangerine. A low, clean, bready malt backbone is present, supported by a neutral fermentation profile and a complete absence of any vegetal or herbal notes.
Taste. High to very high fruity hop and mango flavors dominate the initial palate. The Citra hops contribute vibrant citrus and tropical notes that meld seamlessly with the stone fruit. Bitterness is low-moderate and exceptionally smooth, balancing the fruit sweetness. The finish is off-dry and juicy, with a lingering fruit character that remains clean rather than cloying.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a soft, lush, and smooth texture. Carbonation is moderate, providing a refreshing lift. There is a light, well-integrated alcohol warmth and a notable absence of hop-derived astringency or harshness.
