NEIPA - New England IPA 6.5 º
Here We Are Now is a vibrant Hazy IPA that captures the essence of modern tropical hopping. Built on a foundation of extra pale malt and a substantial addition of oats, the beer offers a soft, pillowy texture that carries intense hop expressions. A heavy whirlpool addition of Citra and Ekuanot BBC provides a foundational citrus and tropical depth, while a massive dry hop of Strata and Idaho 7 drives assertive aromas of juicy mango and sharp pink grapefruit. A subtle, resinous dankness balances the fruit-forward profile, leading to a smooth, low-bitterness finish that exemplifies the style's characteristic drinkability and lush complexity.
Appearance. Color ranges from straw to light orange (3-6 SRM). Opaque and hazy with a luminous shine. Supports a thick, rocky, meringue-like white head with excellent retention and significant lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring dominant notes of ripe mango, pink grapefruit, and passionfruit. A distinct resinous, dank quality is present alongside subtle pine. The malt is light and bready with a grainy sweetness from the oats; no caramel or toast is detected.
Taste. Massively fruity hop flavors of mango, citrus zest, and tropical stone fruit. Low to medium-high bitterness that feels soft and integrated rather than sharp. The malt provides a bready, neutral backbone that supports the hop saturation. Finish is off-dry and smooth with a lingering juicy aftertaste and no harshness.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a soft, silky, and pillowy texture derived from the oat content. Carbonation is moderate. Displays a light, well-integrated alcohol warmth without any astringency or raw grain harshness.
