Liquid Light’s DAIMBAG is a modern take on the American Stout, layering decadent Chocolate, rich caramel, and toasted almond atop a robust roasted malt foundation. The sensory journey begins with an inviting aroma of cocoa and sweet marzipan, transitioning into a palate defined by bittersweet dark chocolate and a smooth, nutty complexity. While the specialty additions suggest a dessert profile, the beer retains its stylistic integrity through a firm, coffee-like roast and a moderate hop bitterness that prevents cloying. Opaque and jet black, it offers a creamy, medium-full body that finishes with a clean, lingering sweetness and a whisper of resinous hops.
Appearance. Jet black (38 SRM) and entirely opaque. Renders a thick, persistent tan head with excellent lacing as it recedes.
Aroma. Moderate to high intensity. Pronounced notes of dark chocolate and sweet caramel are complemented by a distinct toasted almond nuttiness. Underlying these are moderate roasted coffee aromas and a very low, resinous hop character.
Taste. Initial impression is moderately sweet with rich chocolate and caramel flavors. The mid-palate introduces a toasted almond character and a firm, bittersweet roasted coffee malt profile. Medium bitterness provides balance against the specialty ingredients. The finish is medium-dry with a lingering cocoa and nutty aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a smooth, somewhat creamy texture. Carbonation is moderate. Displays a very light, well-integrated alcohol warmth and negligible roast-derived astringency.
