VERTIGO is a commanding Specialty IPA that masterfully balances the hop-forward intensity of an American IPA with the sleek, dark depths of roasted grain. This collaboration with WHC Labs delivers a sensory experience defined by a powerful resinous and piney hop profile that cuts through a smooth, roasty foundation. At 8.2% ABV, the beer presents a sophisticated interplay of restrained chocolate and toast notes without the harshness or ashiness typically found in stouts. The result is a bold, dangerously drinkable black ale that celebrates its champion lineage with a crisp, aggressive bitterness and a lingering, forest-like aromatic finish.

Appearance. Deep ebony to black (SRM 35-40), appearing opaque in the glass. It is topped by a dense, persistent light tan head that leaves significant lacing as it recedes.

Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring pungent pine needles and damp resin. The malt profile is supportive and restrained, offering delicate notes of bittersweet chocolate and toasted bread without any acrid or burnt scents. Low fruity esters and a clean fermentation character are present.

Taste. Initial punch of resinous hops followed by a clean, medium-high bitterness. The malt flavor provides a smooth backdrop of light coffee and dark cocoa, carefully avoiding ashy or burnt territory. It finishes quite dry with a lingering piney aftertaste and a touch of roasted grain that reinforces the dry impression.

Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a smooth, velvety texture. Moderate carbonation provides a gentle lift, while a noticeable but well-integrated alcohol warmth develops in the finish. No astringency from the dark malts.
