This Elderflower Metheglin presents a fragrant and elegant sensory profile, defined by the delicate, musky perfume of elderflower blooms. The honey character is clean and light, providing a medium-sweet foundation that allows the botanical notes of lychee and white grape to flourish. At 14.5% ABV, the warmth is well-integrated and smooth, enhancing the lushness of the honey without introducing harshness. It captures a vibrant, summer garden essence, balancing floral complexity with a refreshing sweetness that lingers gracefully on the palate. The result is a sophisticated and highly aromatic expression of a traditional floral-infused honey wine.
Appearance. Pale straw to light gold (SRM 2-4); brilliant clarity; still with no foam or lacing, though displaying prominent legs on the glass due to high alcohol and sugar content.
Aroma. High intensity floral aroma featuring prominent elderflower, lychee, and green grape notes; the honey character is subtle and floral, reminiscent of clover; clean fermentation profile with no esters or phenolics.
Taste. Initial honey sweetness is quickly complemented by intense elderflower flavors; medium-sweet balance with a floral acidity that prevents cloying; zero hop bitterness; clean fermentation character; lingering, sweet finish with a persistent floral aftertaste.
