Esta cerveza es una versión mejorada de la Old Kriek Cuvée René que nació en las accidentadas primeras importaciones hacia Estados Unidos. Los corchos reventaban de las botellas estallaban por el movimiento de las olas, por lo que se tuvo que hacer cambios en la elaboración para evitar que se repitiera
Esas modificaciones resultaron un éxito rotundo, porque el este kriek es más dulce y afrutado y ese sabor innovador impactó al mundo. Hoy en día, es sin duda la Kriek de referencia para los consumidores.
El secreto fue la mezcla con otra lambic con un año antes de fermentar, la maceración del 25% de filtrado de guindas frescas por 3 días antes de filtrar y pasteurizar la cerveza.
Esta cerveza es tan famosa que el mismo Michael Jackson, quien fuera experto en cerveza, proclamó en 1985 a Kriek Lindemans como una de las cinco mejores cervezas del mundo.
Maridaje: De acuerdo con la marca se puede sirve como acompañante del:

– Carbonade flamande (guiso tradicional flamenco) para acompañar con quesos y también para ensaladas.
