English Pale Ale 4.2 º
Go On Then is a sessionable Ordinary Bitter that bridges traditional British structure with contemporary hop character. Served in the classic cask tradition, it leads with a gentle bready malt base. The addition of Amarillo, El Dorado, and Simcoe hops introduces vibrant aromatic layers of zesty orange and fresh forest pine, elevating the refreshing quality of this pale ale. While the hop profile is assertive, it remains balanced by a firm, clean bitterness characteristic of the style. The result is a smooth, easy-drinking pint that showcases a harmonious interplay between biscuity malt complexity and bright, resinous American hop oils.
Appearance. Pale amber to light copper (8-12 SRM). Low, creamy off-white head with modest retention typical of cask conditioning. Good to brilliant clarity.
Aroma. Moderate intensity featuring a bready and lightly toasty malt backbone. Distinctive hop-forward notes of sweet orange, tropical stone fruit, and a resinous pine character. Low fruity esters.
Taste. Initial impression of clean, biscuity malt followed by a medium-high bitterness. Prominent hop flavors of orange zest and resinous pine from the American varieties. Fermentation is clean with subtle fruity esters. Decidedly bitter balance with a crisp, dry, and lingering hoppy finish.
Mouthfeel. Light to medium-light body with the characteristic soft, low carbonation of a cask-conditioned ale. Smooth texture with no perceptible alcohol warmth and zero astringency.

LEFT HANDED GIANT - In 2014, a man named Rich Poole walked into Small Bar, Bristol, and handed some beer over to Bruce Gray and Jack Granger. This began a brewing journey that started on a 200L kit through the back of that same bar, before developing into a cuckoo brewery operation known as Left Handed Giant.Our own physical brewery operation began in 2017, before raising more than £1m from the local community via Crowdcube to build the beating heart of our business, a brewpub overlooking the floating harbour in the centre of Bristol, which opened in 2019. We now operate over 2 brewing sites, producing around 4000 hL of beer annually, sold through independent pubs, bars and bottle shops with the majority straight to tap through our Finzels Reach Brewpub, our St Philips Tap Room and still, from where it all began at Small Bar. We are proudly a Founder, Employee and Community owned business. We are owned and operated by the people who work in and use our premises, and drink our beer. We have 1500 shareholders in our small company, with more than 80% of them having BS postcodes.
