LETRA Brewery GROUND CONTROL
Ground Control is a vibrant Gose that pushes the boundaries of the traditional style with a lush, tropical infusion. It presents a lively interplay between the sharp, zesty acidity of passion fruit and the succulent, fleshy sweetness of ripe mango. The inclusion of carrot adds a subtle, grounding earthiness that complements the base wheat malt's bready character. A delicate thread of sea salt and citrusy coriander weaves through the sensory profile, enhancing the mouthwatering quality. Effervescent and bright, this collaboration between Letra and Sputnik Lisboa finishes remarkably dry, leaving a lingering impression of tart tropical fruit and a refreshing, mineral salinity.
Appearance. Pours a deep orange to golden-amber with a significant, persistent haze. Features a moderate white head with tight bubbles and fair retention.
Aroma. High intensity of tart passion fruit and sweet mango, underpinned by a clean lactic sourness. Subtle earthy notes from carrot are present alongside light coriander and a mineral, sea-salt character.
Taste. Initial sharp, lactic tartness followed by bold tropical flavors of passion fruit and mango. A light, earthy sweetness from carrot balances the mid-palate. Very low bitterness, allowing the acidity and salt to provide the primary balance. Finishes remarkably dry and clean with a lingering fruity tartness.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with high, effervescent carbonation. The salt provides a distinctively tingly, mouthwatering quality and a slightly rounded texture without feeling heavy.
