LTM Les Trois Mousquetaires

This elevated Baltic Porter presents a decadent synthesis of rich lagered tradition and intense spirit-barrel maturation. An opulent malt backbone of molasses, dark chocolate, and toasted nuts provides the foundation for complex layers of plum, raisin, and black cherry. Extensive aging in bourbon and brandy barrels contributes sophisticated notes of vanilla, charred oak, and a vinous, spirit-forward depth that integrates seamlessly with the 10.5% alcohol. The result is a smooth, velvet-like experience where the smooth roasted character of debittered malts balances the residual sweetness, finishing with a lingering warmth and a whisper of licorice.

Appearance. Opaque dark brown to near black with deep ruby highlights; topped by a thick, creamy, and persistent tan-colored head with fine lacing.

Aroma. High intensity; dominant aromas of dark chocolate, molasses, and toffee are layered with significant bourbon and brandy esters, toasted oak, and vanilla. Deep fruit notes of prunes, raisins, and vinous brandy-soaked cherries are prominent. Clean fermentation profile with no hop aroma or sharp burnt notes.

Taste. Initial impression of rich malt sweetness, caramel, and dark fruit esters. Mid-palate reveals a complex blend of molasses, licorice, and a smooth, Schwarzbier-like roast that avoids burnt acridity. The finish is long and warming, showcasing spirit-derived flavors of vanilla and oak, balanced by medium-low bitterness and a lingering dried fruit aftertaste.

Mouthfeel. Full-bodied and exceptionally smooth with a creamy, mouth-filling texture. Alcohol warmth is noticeable and significant but well-aged and deceptive. Moderate carbonation provides a lifted, non-cloying finish despite the high gravity and ABV.
