This Double IPA is a high-velocity hop experience, amplified by the surgical use of Cryo Citra, Simcoe, and Loral. The sensory profile is dominated by an intense, concentrated hop punch where Citra delivers sharp grapefruit and tropical mango notes, while Simcoe adds a structured pine and resinous depth. Loral rounds out the bouquet with sophisticated floral and peppery highlights. Despite its 8.6% ABV, the palate remains remarkably clean and dry, supported by a neutral, grainy malt base that allows the vibrant lupulin oils to shine without vegetative interference. It finishes with a firm, lingering bitterness and a smooth, integrated warmth.
Appearance. Deep gold to light orange-copper (SRM 7-10) with moderate clarity and a faint haze. Features a moderate-sized, persistent, off-white head with excellent lacing.
Aroma. Intense hop aroma featuring grapefruit, passion fruit, and resinous pine. Secondary floral and spice notes from Loral are evident. Malt character is low, clean, and grainy, providing a neutral backdrop for the prominent hop oils.
Taste. Strong, complex hop flavors of citrus zest, pine sap, and herbal spice. High bitterness that is firm but lacks harshness. Malt flavor is low and unobtrusive, resembling clean crackers. The finish is medium-dry with a lingering, hoppy aftertaste and a clean alcohol presence.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, slightly oily texture. Carbonation is medium-high, providing a lively mouthfeel. Features a restrained, smooth alcohol warmth without any harshness or astringency.
