LERVIG Spezial Pilsner is a vibrantly hop-forward take on the classic German Pils. This unfiltered lager captures the raw vitality of a cellar-fresh beer, presenting a harmonious dialogue between Continental Pilsner malt and traditional German hops. The sensory profile opens with a burst of flowery and spicy aromatics, backed by a delicate layer of grainy, cracker-like malt. On the palate, a crisp, assertive bitterness takes center stage, driving a dry and refreshing finish that invites another sip. Its unfiltered nature adds a subtle textural depth while maintaining the clean, minerally precision and high carbonation expected of the style.
Appearance.Straw to deep yellow (2–4 SRM). Persistent, creamy white head with excellent lacing. Displays a distinctive slight haze rather than being brilliant, due to its unfiltered, cellar-fresh nature.
Aroma.Moderate to high intensity hop character featuring flowery, spicy, and slightly herbal notes. Supported by a low grainy-sweet and doughy malt presence reminiscent of toasted crackers. Clean lager fermentation profile with no esters.
Taste.Initial soft, grainy malt sweetness is rapidly overtaken by a firm, clean hop bitterness. Flavors of herbal and spicy hops predominate over a lean malt base. The balance is decidedly bitter and crisp, leading into a very dry, lingering finish with a faint flinty character.
Mouthfeel.Medium-light body with a brisk, high carbonation level. Refreshing and light on the palate with a very subtle hint of alcohol warmth and a crisp, snappy texture; no astringency.
