This Sweet Stout offers an indulgent sensory escape, building upon a foundation of milk chocolate and roasted coffee notes. The addition of toasted coconut provides a tropical aromatic burst that complements the lactose-driven creaminess inherent to the style. Deep ebony in the glass, it presents a decadent profile where the sweetness of unfermented sugars balances a mild roasted grain bitterness. The interplay between dark malts and the nutty character of the coconut creates a comforting, dessert-like experience. This is a rich, full-bodied beer delivering a smooth, velvety finish that lingers with a touch of sweetened espresso and coconut macaroon.
Appearance. Opaque, deep ebony to black (SRM 35–40). Features a persistent, thick, creamy tan head with excellent lacing.
Aroma. Moderate to high intensity. Prominent toasted coconut dominates, supported by rich milk chocolate and hints of roasted coffee. A clean, cream-like sweetness is present, with very low earthy hop notes and faint dark fruit esters.
Taste. Initial impression is sweet and creamy. Dominant flavors of milk chocolate and sweet coconut are balanced by a moderate roasted grain bitterness. Mid-palate reveals sweetened espresso and cocoa. The balance is decidedly sweet, finishing with a lingering, smooth blend of chocolate and coconut without any harsh or burnt grain character.
Mouthfeel. Full-bodied and notably creamy. Moderate carbonation. A light, well-integrated alcohol warmth is present, while high residual sugars from lactose create a coating, velvety texture with no astringency.
