Belgian Strong Ale 8.2 º 25 IBU
Leffe Radieuse is a refined Belgian Dark Strong Ale that presents a sophisticated sensory profile marked by its deep amber hue. The experience is driven by a complex foundation of roasted malt providing bready and caramel depths, elegantly layered with zesty notes of orange rind and the herbal lift of coriander seeds. Its character is further defined by the classic Belgian yeast, imparting esters of dark fruits like raisins and plums alongside subtle spicy phenols. A distinct but balanced bitterness provides structure, leading to a smooth, warming finish that highlights its elevated strength and traditional monastic heritage.
Appearance. Deep amber to coppery-brown (approximately 18 SRM). It displays a thick, persistent, cream-colored moussy head with excellent lacing and a clear, brilliant presentation.
Aroma. High intensity. Complex bouquet of rich, toasty malt and dark caramel. Prominent esters of dried fruits like prunes and raisins blend with a specific citrus note from orange rind. Subdued but present spicy phenols, reminiscent of coriander and mild clove, are bolstered by a soft, perfumy alcohol presence.
Taste. Initial rich malt sweetness featuring toasted bread and dark sugar. Mid-palate introduces orange zest and spicy coriander depth. Hop bitterness is moderate, balancing the malt richness without being aggressive. The fermentation character is complex, showing dark plum and fig notes. Finishes moderately dry and refined with a lingering, warming spicy-malt aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full, creamy body with high, effervescent carbonation that lightens the palate. Noticeable but smooth alcohol warmth without any harsh solvent character or astringency.

Product DetailsLeffe Radieuse is an amber-coloured beer, rich in flavour and deliciously refined. Its complex taste is particularly enjoyed by true connoisseurs. “An emblem of age-old tradition, Leffe Radieuse’s amber hue reflects its magnificence. Its character is elegantly balanced out by notes of orange rind, coriander seeds and roasted malt. The distinct bitter flavour shows bold signs of a beer that knows how to conquer the heart of a connoisseur. Incredibly rich and wonderfully full-bodied. However, only in a Leffe chalice will this beer truly relinquish all of its eccentricity.”

BREWERY INFO
Brasserie LeffeLeffe, a brewing tradition since 1240 Founded in 1152, Notre-Dame de Leffe was an abbey of Premonstratensian canons, i.e. monks living in a community characterised by its hospitality. The Leffe abbey in 1740, in its heyday: in the foreground we can see the mill with its half-timbered gable, using the water of the Leffe river. In the background, facing each other, are two enemy fortresses: the Montorgueil tower and the castle of Crevecoeur. A lay master brewer worked for the abbey and made a Leffe beer that was so delicious that the parishioners preferred to drink a Leffe on Sundays rather than go to church. The abbot had to take forceful action. The abbey and the brewery were closed during the French Revolution and seemed to be nothing but a distant memory, until the abbey was re-established in 1929. In 1952 abbot Nys and Albert Lootvoet decided to once again take up the brewing tradition of Leffe with its well-guarded recipe and offer a range of delicious Leffe beers. In the meantime, AB-InBev has taken up the torch and has made a commitment to honour the tradition of the Leffe beer, which has been brewed according to the same recipe since 1240.
