This refined Poiré de Normandie pours a delicate, pale straw with a fine, natural effervescence. The aroma is highly expressive, dominated by fresh, sun-ripened pear and subtle white floral notes characteristic of traditional Normandy orchards. On the palate, it delivers a precise balance between delicate residual sweetness and a bright, crisp acidity. The three pear varieties used provide a subtle tannic structure and a lingering, clean finish that highlights the pure fruit essence. Appearance. Pale straw (SRM 2-3) with a brilliant to slight haze due to light filtration. Displays a fine, persistent natural effervescence with a delicate, quickly dissipating white collar of bubbles.
Aroma. High intensity of fresh, elegant pear fruit. Subtle floral esters reminiscent of white blossoms and a light, earthy orchard character. No malt or hop aromas present; clean fermentation profile with no perceptible sulfur.
Taste. Immediate impression of fresh pear juice and delicate sweetness, quickly countered by a bright, refreshing acidity. The three-pear blend offers a complex fruit profile with a touch of skin-like tannin. Finishes clean and crisp with a lingering, refined pear aftertaste. No bitterness or hop flavor.
Mouthfeel. Light to medium-light body with a lively, prickly carbonation from natural bottle conditioning. No alcohol warmth. Smooth texture with a very slight, pleasant tannic astringency that provides necessary structure.

Sparkling French Perry from Normandy. “Poiré”, or Pear Cider, is produced from three varieties of pears that come from multi-centennial orchards. It is known for it’s fresh and refined taste. As with the cider, this Poiré is lightly filtered and bottled to develop its fine natural gas.
Pere Jules are a producer and proprietor-harvester of apple cider, Calvados, Pommeau de Normandie and pear cider since 1919, on 45 hectares planted with about sixty varieties in a traditional orchard of standard trees, with pays d’Auge Appellation d’Origine Contrôlée status. AOC. The ciders are 100% pure juice like all French ciders or Perry must be by law and no addition of anything but sulphite under strict conditions is permitted. This is very important to bear in mind when in most countries of the world ciders can have up to 45 % water added, with sugar, aromatics synthetic or natural, sugar, alcohol, preservatives etc. Absolute authenticity and tradition guarantee that besides the strict French cider regulation, Le Pere Jules, do not pasteurize, nor add sulphites to their ciders, meaning their quality is unmatched, but they are unpredictable, subject sometimes to secondary explosive fermentation, making champagne to look tame in comparison.
