Random Series 80 is a vibrant Amber Rye IPA that marries the assertive, peppery spice of Rye with a massive, dry-hopped payload of American hops. The sensory profile opens with an intense aromatic blast of grapefruit zest, resinous pine, and subtle tropical notes. This hop dominance is supported by a foundation of Amber malts, contributing flavors of toasted bread and light caramel that never overshadow the hop character. The addition of rye provides a distinctively crisp, dry finish and a sharp grain spiciness. With its firm bitterness and clean fermentation, this beer offers a bold, complex, and refreshing take on the Specialty IPA style.

Appearance. Deep amber to copper in color (approximately 12–17 SRM). The beer displays slight haze from heavy dry hopping, topped with a persistent, off-white, frothy head that leaves significant lacing on the glass.

Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring prominent notes of citrus peel, resinous pine, and tropical fruit. The malt character is moderate-low, presenting as toasted bread and a hint of caramel, accompanied by a distinctive peppery, spicy rye note. Clean fermentation profile with no significant esters.

Taste. Initial impression is dominated by firm hop bitterness and citrusy American hop flavors. The mid-palate reveals toasted malt and light toffee, which is quickly balanced by the sharp, spicy grain character of the rye. The finish is notably dry and crisp, with a lingering bitterness and a touch of peppery spice that avoids harshness. Balance is decidedly hop-forward.

Mouthfeel. Medium body with a moderate to high carbonation that enhances the crisp, dry finish. There is a very light, well-integrated alcohol warmth and a slight grain-derived puckering quality from the rye, though the overall texture remains smooth.
