Laugar’s Phantom State is an assertive Double IPA that embodies a hop-forward philosophy, delivering an intense sensory experience. This 8% ABV powerhouse leads with a concentrated blast of resinous pine and citrus zest. It pours a deep gold with a persistent off-white head and excellent clarity. The palate is dominated by a formidable bitterness that remains clean and sharp, supported by a lean, neutral malt backbone that ensures high drinkability. A dry, crisp finish allows the vibrant American hop character to linger long after the sip, complemented by a well-integrated and smooth alcohol warmth that reinforces its bold stature.

Appearance. Deep gold to light orange-copper color (7–10 SRM). Generally clear with a moderate-sized, persistent, off-white head that leaves notable lacing on the glass.

Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring prominent notes of grapefruit, resinous pine, and underlying tropical stone fruit. Malt character is low and neutral, appearing as light crackers or grain. Fermentation is clean with very low fruity esters.

Taste. Strong and complex hop flavors of citrus peel and pine resin. Bitterness is high and assertive but avoids harshness. Low, supportive malt sweetness provides a brief, soft platform before a very dry finish. Lingering hoppy, bitter aftertaste with no significant caramel or toast.

Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, slightly oily texture. Carbonation is medium-high, providing a crisp bite. A restrained, smooth alcohol warmth is present without being solventy or hot.
