This Coffee Session Stout presents an inviting marriage of dark roasted grains and the vibrant personality of Ethiopian coffee from Kaitxo coffee roasters. The sensory profile is dominated by the bright, berry-like acidity and delicate jasmine florals characteristic of the Ethiopian beans, seamlessly integrated into a light-bodied Stout framework. Despite its lower ABV, it offers a robust aromatic experience of freshly ground beans and dark chocolate. The palate balances gentle roasted malt bitterness with the nuanced sweetness of red berries, finishing clean and remarkably drinkable. It is a sophisticated expression of a Spice, Herb, or Vegetable Beer that prioritizes elegance and coffee clarity.

Appearance. Pours a deep, dark ebony (approx. 38 SRM) with a creamy, mocha-colored head that exhibits good retention and leaves delicate lacing. While mostly opaque, highlights show a clear mahogany at the edges.

Aroma. High aromatic intensity characterized by the bright, citrusy, and floral notes of Ethiopian coffee, reminiscent of jasmine and blueberry. Supporting these are moderate base notes of dark chocolate and toasted bread from the malt, with very low earthy hop character and clean fermentation.

Taste. The initial impression is a wash of cold-brew coffee acidity and berry fruitiness. This is supported by moderate roasted malt flavors of cocoa and light char. Bitterness is moderate, derived from both roasted grains and coffee beans, balanced by a faint caramel sweetness. The finish is dry, clean, and highlights a lingering espresso-like aftertaste.

Mouthfeel. Medium-light body, reflective of its session strength, with a smooth, almost creamy texture. Carbonation is moderate. There is no perceived alcohol warmth, and only a very fine, pleasant coffee-derived astringency on the finish.
