Laugar Brewery’s Caronte is a formidable Imperial Stout that commands attention with its obsidian pour and viscous presence. The sensory journey begins with an intense bouquet of espresso and bittersweet chocolate, seamlessly intertwined with the woody, caramelized sweetness of real maple syrup. On the palate, a complex layer of roasted grains and black licorice meets the rich, earthy depth of the maple, providing a decadent counterpoint to the firm hop bitterness. This full-bodied experience concludes with a lingering warmth and a velvety finish, showcasing a sophisticated balance between robust charred malts and luxurious adjunct sweetness.

Appearance. Jet black and completely opaque. It supports a dense, long-lasting dark tan head with excellent retention and visible legs on the glass surface reflecting its high viscosity.

Aroma. High intensity with a rich blend of roasted coffee, dark chocolate, and slight char. The maple adds a distinct toasty, woody sweetness. Low esters of prune and dried fig are present alongside a smooth, noticeable alcohol presence.
