This Specialty IPA presents an inviting copper hue, merging the refreshing character of a wheat-based ale with the assertive hop profile of an India Pale Ale. Vivid aromas of grapefruit, sweet orange, and bright citrus zest lead the sensory experience, supported by a subtle, bready wheat malt backbone. The fermentation character is clean yet allows for delicate spicy notes to complement the hop intensity. On the palate, a firm bitterness balances the medium body, leading to a crisp, citrus-forward finish that remains refreshing. The 6.2% ABV provides a subtle warmth that integrates seamlessly with the intensive mouthfeel and vibrant fruit profile.
Appearance. Copper color (approximately 12 SRM). Features a strong, persistent, and thick white head with excellent lacing. Slight haze is present, consistent with the use of wheat.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma dominated by citrus, orange, and grapefruit. Low to moderate malt presence with notes of bready wheat and a hint of cracker. Clean fermentation profile with very light peppery phenols and subtle fruity esters.
Taste. Initial hop-forward flavors of grapefruit and orange zest. Medium-high bitterness that provides a clean, firm structure. Low to medium malt flavor, offering a supportive grainy wheat character without significant sweetness. The finish is dry and slightly resinous with a lingering citrus aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium to medium-full body with an intensive, coating texture. Carbonation is moderate to high, providing a lively prickle on the tongue. Light alcohol warmth is noticeable but well-integrated.
