This Red IPA presents a vibrant fusion of rich malt complexity and assertive hop character. A base of specialty malts provides a structured foundation of toasted bread, sweet caramel, and light toffee, which supports a high-intensity hop profile. Expect aromatic layers of resinous pine, grapefruit zest, and tropical fruit notes. The balance leans toward a firm, crisp bitterness that cleanses the palate, yet leaves enough malt presence to avoid being harsh. It is a refined Specialty IPA that celebrates the marriage of deep ruby hues with the bright, citrusy punch of New World hops.
Appearance. Deep amber to reddish-copper (11–19 SRM) with brilliant clarity. A thick, persistent, off-white to light tan head leaves decorative lacing.
Aroma. Moderate to high intensity. Dominant hop notes of pine needles, grapefruit, and stone fruit. Supported by a medium-low malt aroma featuring distinct caramel sweetness, toasted biscuits, and a hint of dark fruit. Clean fermentation profile with very low fruity esters.
Taste. Initial punch of citrus and resinous hops followed immediately by a rich, bready malt sweetness. Flavors of dark caramel and toasted grains provide depth without being roasted or burnt. Firm, medium-high bitterness provides a sharp balance. The finish is dry to off-dry with a lingering resinous hop aftertaste and a clean malt backbone.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth texture. Moderate carbonation provides a lively, scrubbing sensation. Very light alcohol warmth is well-integrated at 5.6% ABV. No astringency.
