This West Coast IPA, a collaboration with Burning Sky, reimagines the classic style through a New Zealand lens. Utilizing a trio of NZ varieties—Eggers Special, Eggers Motueka, and Eggers Nelson Sauvin—it delivers a sophisticated interplay of pungent pine resin and vibrant tropical intensity. The aroma is dominated by crushed white grapes and zesty lime, while the palate offers a firm, crisp bitterness characteristic of the style. Unfined and unfiltered, it retains a raw hop integrity, balancing its 6.5% ABV with a clean, dry finish. Expect a refreshing, assertive profile that honors tradition while showcasing the unique, fruit-forward oils of Southern Hemisphere hops.

Appearance. Medium gold to light amber (approx. 7 SRM). Though unfined and unfiltered, it presents with only a slight haze. Topped with a persistent, medium-sized white head with good lacing.

Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring prominent pine resin and grapefruit. Specific New Zealand notes from Eggers Nelson Sauvin and Eggers Motueka emerge as crushed gooseberry, white grape, and lime zest. Low, clean, grainy-sweet malt provides a subtle backbone with a neutral fermentation profile.

Taste. Assertive, high hop bitterness hits early and lingers into a dry, crisp finish. Flavors mirror the aroma: bright tropical fruit, passionfruit, and distinct lime citrus supported by a resinous pine core. Low malt toastiness provides a lean frame for the Eggers Special hops to shine. Clean aftertaste with no harshness.

Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, slightly oily hop texture. Moderate to high carbonation enhances the crisp, refreshing character. A very light, well-integrated alcohol warmth is present.
