To celebrate their inaugural year, Lakes Brew Co delivers a decadent Imperial Stout that pours like liquid midnight. The sensory profile is dominated by an indulgent fusion of peanut butter and chocolate, creating a sumptuous and silky experience. On the nose, intense notes of roasted cocoa and nutty richness meld with subtle dark fruit esters like raisins and prunes. The palate is a luxurious landscape of bittersweet chocolate and oily peanut creaminess, supported by a robust roasted malt backbone. A significant alcohol presence provides a comforting warmth, while the finish lingers with a harmonious balance of earthy bitterness and confectionery sweetness, perfectly capturing the brewer's celebratory intent.

Appearance. Jet black and completely opaque. A thick, dark tan head shows moderate retention, leaving oily legs on the glass as it recedes, indicative of the high viscosity and 10.5% alcohol content.

Aroma. High intensity aroma featuring a rich blend of roasted malt and adjuncts. Prominent notes of bittersweet chocolate and creamy peanut butter are complemented by underlying scents of espresso and charred grain. Moderate dark fruit esters reminiscent of figs and plums emerge as it warms, alongside a clean, noticeable alcohol presence.

Taste. The initial impression is deeply sweet and malt-forward, showcasing layers of milk chocolate and roasted peanuts. A firm hop bitterness and roasted grain character provide essential balance against the adjunct richness. Mid-palate flavors include black licorice and dried currants. The finish is long and warming with a lingering bittersweet cocoa and nutty aftertaste.

Mouthfeel. Full-bodied and exceptionally chewy with a velvety, luscious texture. Carbonation is low to moderate, enhancing the silky mouthfeel. A smooth, gentle alcohol warmth is prominent but well-integrated, with no harshness or astringency.
