Lakedown’s Silver Lake is a classic German Pils that highlights the refined elegance of traditional German malts and the spicy, floral signature of Saaz hops. Fermented slowly with Bavarian lager yeast, the beer presents a pristine sensory profile defined by its remarkable clarity and clean fermentation. Aromas of toasted cracker and light honeyed dough are met by an assertive hop presence. On the palate, the initial malt sweetness is swiftly balanced by a firm, crisp bitterness, driving toward a refreshingly dry finish. It is a sophisticated lager that exemplifies the style's character through high attenuation and a sharp, flinty snap.
Appearance. Straw to deep yellow in color, ranging from 2 to 4 SRM. Brilliant clarity with a dense, creamy, and long-lasting white head that leaves consistent lacing.
Aroma. Moderate to high spicy and herbal hop character from the Saaz variety. Low grainy-sweet, doughy malt intensity with a hint of toasted cracker. Clean fermentation profile with no yeast-derived esters or phenols.
Taste. Initial grainy malt sweetness is quickly suppressed by a firm hop bitterness. Hop flavors are prominently spicy and herbal. The finish is very dry and crisp with a clean aftertaste and a lingering, refreshing bitterness.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with high carbonation, providing a lively and crisp mouthfeel. No perceived alcohol warmth. Smooth texture with a light, flinty sharpness that enhances the dry finish.
