This modern American IPA showcases a vibrant hop trifecta designed for a crisp, assertive profile. Citra leads the charge with an intense aromatic punch of grapefruit and mango, while Ekuanot contributes nuanced layers of lime zest and pithy melon. The addition of Sabro introduces a distinctive yet controlled suggestion of coconut and cedar, adding complexity without overwhelming the classic West Coast structure. Balanced by a lean, grainy malt backbone, the beer finishes exceptionally dry with a lingering resinous bitterness. This bright gold ale emphasizes hop-forward aromatics and a refreshing, snappy character that highlights the brewery's contemporary approach to the style.
Appearance. Pale gold to medium gold (6–8 SRM). Brilliantly clear with a medium-sized, persistent white head that leaves consistent lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aromatics featuring bright grapefruit, mango, and lime zest. Subtle coconut and cedar notes from Sabro are present. Low, neutral grainy-sweet malt; clean fermentation profile with no significant esters or phenols.
Taste. Strong hop flavor mirroring the citrus and tropical aroma. High hop bitterness that is firm but not harsh. Low, clean malt presence provides a brief supporting sweetness before a transition to a very dry, crisp finish. Hoppy and resinous aftertaste with minimal malt interference.
