This Double IPA delivers a vivid sensory experience, saturated with an intense lupulin presence that demands attention. The complex hop profile, driven by the strategic use of Sabro, Cryo Citra, Cryo Ekuanot, and Mosaic, creates holographic layers of aroma ranging from creamy coconut and ripe mango to bright citrus zest and dark berries. Despite the 9.5% ABV, the beer maintains a clean profile, allowing a supportive, grainy-sweet malt backbone to balance the high bitterness. It finishes medium-dry with a lingering tropical resin, showcasing an impeccably crafted interplay between a luscious body and a punchy, fruit-forward hop character.
Appearance. Deep gold to light copper (8-10 SRM) with a slight haze consistent with heavy dry-hopping. It supports a moderate-sized, persistent, off-white head with fine-beaded lacing.
Aroma. Intense hop aroma featuring a complex blend of tropical fruit, mango, and pineapple, alongside a distinct coconut and cedar note from the Sabro. Bright citrus and stone fruit undertones are supported by a clean, neutral, and slightly grainy-sweet malt character in the background.
Taste. Initial impression is a burst of citrus and tropical fruit flavors, specifically grapefruit and passion fruit. A firm, moderately high bitterness is well-integrated and never harsh. The malt flavor is low but provides a soft, bready foundation. The finish is medium-dry with a lingering aftertaste of resinous hops and tropical fruit juice.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a smooth, luscious texture that avoids being heavy. Carbonation is moderate-high, providing a lively prickle. A smooth, restrained alcohol warmth is present but well-integrated, with no hop-derived astringency.
