Sweet Stout 6.4 º
This Sweet Stout presents a lush sensory experience centered on a deep foundation of dark malts and the tropical richness of lightly toasted coconut. The appearance is nearly opaque with a resilient, creamy tan head. On the nose, an inviting bouquet of sweetened espresso and milk chocolate mingles with the distinct, nutty aroma of the coconut adjunct. The palate is defined by a decadent milk stout character, where the silky sweetness of lactose cushions notes of dark chocolate and roasted grain. The toasted coconut provides a persistent, velvety layer of flavour that leads into a smooth, lingering finish, balancing mild roast bitterness with indulgent creaminess.
Appearance. Very dark brown to black (35-40 SRM); opaque. Features a dense, persistent creamy tan head with excellent retention and fine lacing.
Aroma. High intensity. Dominant notes of toasted coconut and milk chocolate. Supporting aromas of sweetened espresso from dark malts, with a clear impression of cream-like sweetness. Low dark fruit esters; no hop aroma.
Taste. Initial flavors of sweet cream and toasted nuttiness. The mid-palate is dominated by dark chocolate and mild roasted coffee. Moderate bitterness is present but largely masked by high residual sweetness. Finishes sweet and smooth with a lingering coconut and cocoa aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full to full-bodied with a rich, creamy, and coating texture. Moderate-low carbonation. A soft, well-integrated alcohol warmth is noticeable but not sharp.
