This Altbier presents a clean and disciplined sensory profile, balancing a robust malt backbone with a decisive, firm bitterness. The Red Rebel character is expressed through a deep copper-to-bronze hue and brilliant clarity. On the nose, it offers rich, grainy aromas of baked bread and toasted Munich malt crusts, complemented by a subtle, spicy Spalt hop presence. The palate is defined by a smooth, medium-bodied texture and a dry finish that emphasizes peppery hop notes. Fermented at cooler temperatures, it maintains a remarkably clean profile, allowing the toasted malt complexities to lead without interference from heavy esters or roasted astringency.
Appearance. Deep copper to bronze-orange with brilliant clarity. Topped by a thick, creamy, and long-lasting off-white head with excellent lacing.
Aroma. Moderate to high intensity of rich, grainy malt characterized by toasted bread crusts and baked bread. Hop aroma is low to moderate, featuring spicy and floral notes. Very clean fermentation with negligible esters.
Taste. Initial rich maltiness suggesting toasted grain and nutty crusts without roasted or chocolate flavors. A firm bitterness rises quickly to balance the malt, accompanied by a spicy hop flavor. The finish is notably dry and clean with a lingering, pleasant bitterness.
