La Superbe

La Superbe XORTAT is a modern Double IPA that delivers a saturated sensory experience driven by a massive dry-hop profile of Galaxy, Mosaic, and Kohatu. The aroma is an explosion of tropical intensity, featuring ripe passionfruit and juicy pineapple layered over subtle pine needles and blueberry notes. On the palate, the Galaxy hops provide a bold peach sweetness, while Mosaic adds complexity with hints of rose and citrus. Despite its 8% ABV, the beer remains remarkably smooth, with a soft, pillowy texture. A clean, neutral malt base allows the vibrant hop oils to shine through to a refreshing finish with restrained bitterness.

Appearance. Deep gold to light orange (7-9 SRM); opaque, heavy haze; thick, creamy white head with excellent persistence and dense lacing.

Aroma. High intensity hop aroma dominated by tropical fruits, specifically passionfruit and pineapple, alongside notes of citrus peel and ripe stone fruit. Background malt is neutral and lightly grainy, supporting a clean fermentation profile with very subtle, well-integrated alcohol warmth.

Taste. Initial impression is a burst of tropical fruit punch including mango, peach, and berry. Malt flavor is low but provides a soft, bready foundation. Hop bitterness is moderate and smooth, lacking any harshness. The finish is medium-dry with a lingering aftertaste of tropical fruit oils and a hint of resinous pine.

Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a soft, creamy, and pillowy texture. Carbonation is moderate. Alcohol presence provides a gentle, restrained warmth that enhances the mouthfeel without being solventy or hot.
