This Double IPA radiates an intense sensory profile driven by a bold trio of Mosaic, Strata, and Galaxy hops. The aroma leads with a punch of tropical passion fruit and overripe mango, quickly transitioning into more nuanced notes of dank resin and bright citrus zest. On the palate, the high hop intensity delivers flavors of strawberry and sweet melon, supported by a lean, neutral malt base that ensures a clean, dry finish. Despite its strength, the bitterness remains firm yet smooth, while the mouthfeel is enriched by a soft texture and a gentle alcohol warmth that enhances its formidable drinkability.
Appearance. Deep gold to light orange-copper with a prominent, creamy off-white head that shows good persistence and leaves consistent lacing. It exhibits a characteristic heavy haze consistent with modern hazy interpretations of the style.
Aroma. High intensity aroma dominated by complex hop notes of blueberry and tropical fruit from Mosaic, complemented by the dank, herbal, and passion fruit qualities of Strata and Galaxy. A clean, neutral grainy malt sits quietly in the background with a very light fruity fermentation character.
Taste. Initial impression is a wave of hop-derived flavors, specifically pineapple and citrus peel, followed by a firm but smooth bitterness. The malt flavor is low and unobtrusive, providing just enough support to prevent harshness. It finishes dry with a lingering hoppy and resinous aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-bodied with a smooth, soft texture. Carbonation is moderate-high. A noticeable but well-integrated alcohol warmth is present, providing a pleasant glow without any harsh hop-derived astringency.
