La Superbe

La Superbe SHELLICIOUS is a vibrant Hazy IPA that captures an intense bouquet of tropical and orchard fruits. The trio of Nelson Sauvin, Idaho 7, and El Dorado hops creates a layered sensory experience, led by notes of crushed white grapes, ripe pineapple, and fleshy stone fruits like apricot. A soft, hazy appearance precedes a silky-smooth palate where the hop saturation is balanced by a subtle, bready malt backbone. With its restrained bitterness and juicy finish, this beer emphasizes the aromatic depth of its New World hops, delivering a refreshing yet complex profile that remains true to the style's velvety character.

Appearance. Pale straw to gold (approx. 4 SRM). Opaque, uniform haze with a luminous quality. Pours with a large, white, meringue-like head that shows high retention and leaves significant lacing on the glass.

Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring prominent notes of white grape, gooseberry, and tropical pineapple. Clean, bready malt is present but stays in the background. Esters are supportive, leaning toward peach and apricot, with no detectable alcohol or DMS.

Taste. High fruity hop flavor mirroring the aroma with ripe tropical fruit, melon, and citrus. Malt flavor is low and grainy-sweet, providing a neutral canvas. Bitterness is low-moderate and exceptionally smooth, leading to a soft, off-dry finish that avoids any hop bite or harshness. Aftertaste is long and fruit-forward.

Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a soft, pillowy texture and no astringency. Carbonation is moderate. Very smooth mouthfeel with a slight creaminess and a faint, well-integrated alcohol warmth.
