Python is a vibrant Double IPA that balances power with high drinkability. Utilizing Citra and Strata hops, the sensory profile is dominated by a tropical and citrus explosion. Expect intense notes of passion fruit, grapefruit, and a distinct dankness characteristic of Strata. Despite the 7.5% ABV, it remains remarkably smooth, supported by a soft, grainy malt backbone that avoids heavy caramel sweetness. The hazy presentation hints at a velvety texture, while the finish is dry enough to encourage another sip. It captures the essence of a modern, hop-forward strong ale with a clean fermentation profile and assertive but integrated bitterness.
Appearance. Pale gold to light orange (6-8 SRM). Opaque and hazy. Features a dense, persistent white head with excellent lacing.
Aroma. High intensity. Prominent tropical fruit (passion fruit, mango) and citrus (grapefruit, lime) from Citra, complemented by resinous, dank, and strawberry-like nuances of Strata. Background malt is low, clean, and grainy-sweet. Neutral fermentation with a very subtle, clean alcohol presence.
Taste. Leading with high-impact hop flavors of citrus zest, tropical juice, and a touch of herbal pine. Citra provides a sharp lemon-grapefruit edge, while Strata adds depth with berry and hemp-like notes. Bitterness is firm but rounded, avoiding harshness. Malt flavor is low and neutral. Finish is dry to medium-dry with a lingering hoppy aftertaste and clean alcohol.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a soft, creamy, and velvety texture. Moderate carbonation provides a gentle lift. Very subtle, smooth alcohol warmth without any harsh hop-derived astringency.
