Fleur De Lune presents an elevated take on the classic Berliner Weisse, merging traditional German acidity with vibrant botanical infusions. The aroma is defined by the perfume of orange blossom, providing a delicate floral veil over a sharp, citrusy lactic sourness. On the palate, the crisp wheat base provides a soft, doughy texture that is immediately pierced by the zesty, pithy brightness of fresh grapefruit zest. Effervescent and bone-dry, this low-alcohol ale balances its tartness with refined citrus notes, finishing with a clean, puckering snap and a lingering floral elegance that makes it exceptionally refreshing.
Appearance. Pale straw (2-3 SRM). Features a large, dense, white head with poor retention. Clarity ranges from clear to a slight haze, characterized by high effervescence.
Aroma. Moderate to high intensity lactic sourness. Dominant floral notes of orange blossom are complemented by the sharp, acidic aroma of grapefruit zest and tart lemon. The wheat malt provides a light raw bread dough or sourdough character. No hop aroma.
Taste. Clean, strong lactic sourness dominates the initial impression. A grainy, doughy wheat flavor provides a subtle foundation. The addition of grapefruit zest contributes a bright, citrusy tang, while orange blossom adds a restrained floral complexity. No hop bitterness or flavor is detected; the balance is driven entirely by acidity. The finish is very dry and crisp.
Mouthfeel. Light body that remains substantial enough to avoid thinness. Very high, prickly carbonation. No alcohol warmth. Characterized by a crisp, refreshing acidity.
