This decadent Imperial Stout offers a luxurious sensory experience inspired by Moroccan Chebakia. Dark, roasted malts create a foundation of bittersweet chocolate and espresso, further enriched by the nutty, toasted depth of roasted sesame seeds. The addition of orange blossom water introduces an elegant floral top note, cutting through the intense viscosity. It pours opaque and midnight black, topped with a persistent mocha head. The palate is velvety and full, delivering layers of charred grain, dark honey, and floral citrus, finishing with a lingering, warming complexity that masks its high strength behind a tapestry of spice and roast.
Appearance. Opaque, jet black (40 SRM). Features a dense, persistent dark tan head with thick lacing and visible legs due to high viscosity.
Aroma. High intensity with dominant scents of bittersweet chocolate, espresso, and charred grain. Distinctive nutty, earthy aromas from roasted sesame seeds are prominent, complemented by elegant floral orange blossom notes and faint dark fruit esters of raisin and plum. Smooth alcohol presence.
Taste. Initial impression is rich and intensely roasty. Deep flavors of cocoa and black coffee are layered with a savory, toasted nuttiness from the sesame. The orange blossom water provides a delicate floral lift. High bitterness is well-supported by a medium-sweet malt backbone, finishing with a complex, lingering warmth of dark malt and floral spice.
Mouthfeel. Full-bodied and chewy with a velvety, luscious texture. Carbonation is low to moderate. Noticeable but smooth alcohol warmth provides a pleasant glow without being sharp.
