Elsewhere is a vibrant Saison that captures the essence of a rustic harvest. The inclusion of kumquats infuses the profile with a bright, tart citrus character, while the addition of hay lends a distinctively earthy, sun-dried grass quality to the sensory experience. Its foundation is built on a soft, grainy base of pale malt, providing a canvas for the expressive, peppery yeast esters typical of the style. On the palate, expect a bone-dry finish with a crisp, refreshing snap. Continental hops provide a subtle floral backdrop, perfectly balancing the zesty fruit and herbal, pastoral notes of the hay for a highly complex, effervescent, and thirst-quenching farmhouse ale.
Appearance. Luminous pale orange with a slight haze from being unfiltered; topped by a tall, dense, rocky ivory head that exhibits excellent persistence and leaves intricate Belgian lacing.
Aroma. Moderate to high intensity featuring a sharp, citrusy kumquat punch layered over rustic, earthy hay. Moderate peppery phenols and soft fruity esters merge with a low, grainy malt sweetness and a faint floral hop note.
Taste. The initial impression is bone-dry and effervescent. Dominant flavors of zesty kumquat and sun-cured hay are supported by a spicy, black pepper fermentation character. Moderate hop bitterness and a grainy malt backbone lead to a very dry, crisp finish with a lingering herbal aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light body with very high, prickly carbonation that creates a lively, effervescent feel. Alcohol warmth is very low and well-integrated; no astringency is present despite the addition of rustic botanical ingredients.
