Element - Strata is a focused SMASH Hazy IPA that showcases the complex, multi-layered profile of the Strata hop against a clean canvas of Pilsner Malt. The aroma is an intense bouquet of passion fruit and bright citrus, underpinned by a distinctive dank, herbal edge and subtle strawberry notes. Fermentation with a characterful English yeast adds a layer of stone fruit esters that complements the tropical hop character. On the palate, the soft, bready malt provides a gentle foundation for flavors of grapefruit and mango, leading to a smooth, low-bitterness finish that remains refreshingly juicy and drinkable despite its strength.
Appearance. 3–5 SRM. Straw to pale gold with a consistent, opaque haze and a luminous shine. Supports a thick, rocky, white head with excellent retention and delicate lacing.
Aroma. High intensity; dominated by tropical fruit such as passion fruit and mango alongside citrus grapefruit. A secondary dank, resinous note is present with light strawberry. The Pilsner Malt contributes a subtle bready, grainy sweetness, while the English yeast provides light pear and apricot esters.
Taste. High tropical fruit hop flavor with a primary impression of juicy passion fruit and citrus zest. The Pilsner Malt offers a clean, lightly bready flavor that stays in the background. Bitterness is moderate-low and smooth, never harsh. The fermentation character is estery and supportive, finishing off-dry with a lingering tropical aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-full body with a soft, pillowy texture and no harshness. Moderate carbonation enhances the juicy sensation. A gentle alcohol warmth is present but well-integrated. No astringency or raw starch texture.
