Anguille V6 presents a vibrant sensory tribute to New Zealand viticulture and citrus groves. This American IPA features a lush, clouded golden pour that releases high-intensity aromas of crushed white wine grapes and zesty lime, driven by the generous dry-hopping of Nelson Sauvin and Motueka hops. The palate is defined by tropical gooseberry and passionfruit, supported by a clean, light-grainy malt base that remains unobtrusive. A firm but smooth bitterness provides structure without harshness, leading into a dry, refreshing finish. Its creamy, medium-bodied mouthfeel enhances the juicy hop expression, making it a sophisticated, hop-forward experience that highlights modern southern hemisphere terroir.
Appearance. Color is medium gold (approx. 7 SRM). Features a dense, white, persistent head with excellent lacing. Though the style allows clarity, this version presents a significant, attractive haze.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma dominated by white wine, gooseberry, and tropical fruit from Nelson Sauvin, alongside bright lime and lemon notes from Motueka. Malt character is low and clean, providing a light crackery backdrop with neutral fermentation esters.
Taste. Initial impression is hop-saturated and juicy. Strong flavors of white currant, passionfruit, and citrus peel. Malt flavor is low, grainy, and supportive. Bitterness is medium-high and firm, consistent with a modern hop-forward profile. The finish is dry and clean with a lingering resinous and lime-zest aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a notably smooth, slightly creamy texture. Carbonation is medium-high. Very light, well-integrated alcohol warmth is present but subtle. Devoid of hop harshness or astringency.
