La Sitgetana Maricel
This American Pale Ale presents a balanced sensory profile that marries classic hop intensity with a sturdy malt foundation. A generous dry-hop addition of Citra drives the aromatic experience, offering vivid layers of grapefruit, lime, and tropical passion fruit. These bright, fruity cues are expertly countered by the inclusion of Crystal malt, which lends a supportive sweetness and notes of soft caramel and toasted bread. Despite its low carbonation, the beer maintains a dense and creamy foam. The palate is exceptionally approachable, delivering a clean fermentation character and a moderate bitterness that ensures a smooth, refreshing finish designed for high drinkability.
Appearance. Pours a deep golden to amber color (7–9 SRM) with a slight haze from the dry-hopping. Features a notably dense, creamy, off-white head with excellent retention and thick lacing.
Aroma. Moderate to high intensity hop aroma featuring prominent citrus and tropical fruit notes of grapefruit and melon from the Citra hops. A supportive, low-to-moderate malt presence provides hints of caramel and toasted grain, alongside very faint fruity yeast esters.
Taste. The flavor leads with a balanced mix of citrusy hops and sweet caramel malt. The bitterness is moderate, providing enough structure to offset the malt without becoming aggressive. A clean fermentation profile allows the hop-derived tropical fruit flavors to persist into a medium-dry, clean finish with a lingering fruity aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, velvety texture. Carbonation is low to moderate, contributing to a creamy mouthfeel rather than a sharp prickly sensation. No perceived alcohol warmth.
