This Black IPA presents a striking balance between pungent hop character and restrained dark grain. Aromas of resinous pine and bright citrus leap forward, supported by a subtle, clean backdrop of toasted bread and faint cocoa. On the palate, a firm bitterness asserts itself quickly, followed by flavors of grapefruit peel and dark berries that weave through a lean malt profile featuring light coffee and chocolate notes. Appearance. Deep ebony to black in color (35 SRM) with excellent clarity despite its darkness. It supports a creamy, persistent light tan head that leaves consistent lacing on the glass.

Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring notes of grapefruit, resinous pine, and a hint of tropical mango. The malt profile is restrained, offering low-intensity hints of unsweetened cocoa and toasted crust without any acrid smoke or burnt character.

Taste. Initial citrus and resinous hop flavors are dominant, met by a medium-high bitterness that provides a sharp, clean structure. The mid-palate reveals light chocolate and cold-brew coffee notes from the specialty malts, which never become burnt or ashy. It finishes dry and crisp with a lingering hop resin aftertaste.

Mouthfeel. Medium body with a smooth, slightly creamy texture. Carbonation is moderate, providing a lively scrub on the tongue. There is a very light, well-integrated alcohol warmth consistent with its 6.6% ABV.
