La Quince Red Thirst is a bold Specialty IPA that balances intense hopping with a robust red malt character. A massive double dry-hop addition of Bru-1 and Mosaic delivers a punch of ripe pineapple, mango, and berry, while Chinook and Polaris ground the profile with resinous pine and a unique, clean herbal snap. The malt bill provides a structural foundation of toasted biscuit and light caramel, harmonizing with the high bitterness. Appearance. Deep copper to reddish-amber (11–17 SRM) with a slight haze from the heavy double dry-hopping. It supports a persistent, dense, off-white to light tan head with excellent lacing.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring prominent notes of pineapple and stone fruit from Bru-1, layered with Mosaic's tropical mango and berry. Taste. The initial impression is hop-forward and assertive, showcasing resinous pine, grapefruit, and tropical fruit flavors. The malt flavor is moderate, offering biscuit and toffee notes that support the medium-high to high bitterness. The finish is dry to off-dry, with a lingering bitterness and a clean fermentation profile, though light fruity esters are detectable.
Mouthfeel. Medium-bodied with a smooth, slightly creamy texture. Carbonation is moderate. A noticeable but well-integrated alcohol warmth is present, consistent with its 7.6% ABV, without being harsh or astringent.
