This vibrant White IPA, a collaboration between La Quince and Río Azul, balances the soft, pillowy textures of Wheat and Oat malts with a bright, multi-dimensional hop profile. Polaris hops introduce a unique minty coolness and clean bitterness, while Simcoe and Cascade provide layers of pine resin, grapefruit zest, and subtle stone fruit. The appearance is traditionally hazy with a persistent white head. On the palate, the creamy mouthfeel from the grains supports a dry, refreshing finish. It bridges the gap between the effortless drinkability of a wheat-based ale and the bold, assertive character of a modern American IPA.
Appearance. Pale straw to deep gold (3-6 SRM). Large, dense white head with excellent persistence and thick lacing. Hazy to opaque due to the high protein content from wheat and oats.
Aroma. High intensity hop aroma featuring prominent notes of grapefruit, resinous pine, and a distinct herbal coolness. Low to moderate bready, grainy wheat character with a light touch of oat-driven sweetness. Clean fermentation with very low spicy phenols and light citrus esters.
Taste. Initial impression is refreshing and hop-forward. Medium-high hop flavors of citrus zest, pine needles, and tropical fruit are supported by a bready, grainy malt base. Moderate to high bitterness that feels crisp rather than harsh. The finish is dry and clean, leaving a lingering resinous and citrusy aftertaste.
Mouthfeel. Medium-light to medium body with a notable silkiness and creaminess from the oats. Moderate-high carbonation provides a refreshing prickle. Very light alcohol warmth is well-integrated and smooth.
